Henri-Dunant Chikuru

I architect and ship full-stack systems and build companies that solve problems that actually matter.

I'm a Full-Stack AI Systems Architect based in Kampala, Uganda, originally from DRC. I've been coding for 5 years and building ventures for the last 2. My stack runs from distributed backends to production AI pipelines: Python, Node.js, Go, Rust, C#, React/TypeScript, PostgreSQL, deployed on AWS with Kubernetes. I ship with CI/CD, Docker, and strong DevOps practices built in. On the AI side I work with LLMs, RAG, agentic systems, and vector databases.

What I'm building

At Safirio, we're building an AI-powered tourism and conservation platform for Africa. Our climate-tech layer, Afrisens Technologies, combines real-time environmental sensing, community-owned GIS mapping, and conservation dashboards to monitor wildlife corridors, forest fire risk, soil moisture, air quality, and tourism pressure points, turning raw data into decisions that protect ecosystems and empower local communities.

At Helios, we're building Africa's connected health infrastructure. An integrated ecosystem of AI-powered medical-grade wearables, smart clothing, health cards, and IoT sensors, unified under the Health Plus Cloud Platform, serving patients, providers, and facilities across the continent. The mission is simple: healthcare should be proactive, not reactive.

Both ventures are active. Both are looking for the right investors and partners.

Beyond the code

I work at HTCES Investment as Senior Engineer in Research & Development, where I lead technical strategy across a portfolio of African tech startups. I also co-built Wild Art Culture, the first African online museum and marketplace supporting artists, artisans, and cultural centers across the continent. And I've worked on film and documentary production with Kuna Creatives.

I volunteer with Fobeworld, an organization in Uganda and DRC using football and storytelling to help young people, especially girls, thrive through education, wellness, and resilience.

I read at least 2 books a month across technology, sustainability, economics, spirituality, and personal development. I'm a reggae obsessive. I make adventure videos on YouTube documenting my explorations, inspired by Mike Horn, I'm always planning the next expedition.
